A Scottish convenience giant is raising the bar with new alcohol-free options just in time for Hogmanay and Dry January.
From 28th December 2024, Scotmid stores will feature two standout offerings from Aberdeenshire’s Burnside Brewery: “Right to Roam IPA” and “Wayfinder Lager.”
These award-winning alcohol-free beers bring a new twist to festive celebrations, ensuring everyone can join in the cheer without compromise.
Burnside Brewery’s creations earned their place on Scotmid’s shelves by winning the Scottish Favourites competition, run in partnership with Scotland Food & Drink.
The initiative champions local producers, providing a platform to showcase the best of Scotland’s culinary craft.
Steven Addison, Local Sourcing Manager at Scotmid, said:
“Burnside Brewery’s beers are a fantastic addition to our range, especially with the increasing demand for alcohol-free choices.”
“Supporting Scottish businesses is central to what we do, and Burnside’s commitment to quality and sustainability aligns perfectly with our goals.”
Burnside Brewery, a family-run venture led by Steve Lewis and Margo Macnab, has been crafting beer since 2010 with a focus on local ingredients and sustainability.
Inspired by their journey into parenthood, the duo launched their alcohol-free range to create authentic beers that complement family life.
“We wanted something that tastes amazing but fits with our lifestyle,” said Steve.
“Our first alcohol-free beer debuted just before our son arrived, and it’s now one of our bestsellers.”
Margo added:
“Winning the Scottish Favourites competition is an incredible milestone for us.
“We’re thrilled Scotmid customers will get to enjoy our beers.”
Burnside’s “Right to Roam IPA” boasts notes of caramel, orange marmalade, and earthy pine, earning it a Gold Award at the Independent Beer Awards Scotland and a Great Taste Award in 2023.
Scotmid’s partnership with Burnside underscores their commitment to sustainability and local suppliers, aligning with the growing appetite for ethical, high-quality products.
This collaboration ensures Burnside Brewery’s alcohol-free beers will be a staple for shoppers across Scotland this festive season and beyond.
