Dornoch Music Festival returns on 17 and 18 July, bringing two days of live music, family entertainment, food, fun fairs and a summer atmosphere to the heart of Sutherland.
With little more than two weeks to go until gates open, organisers are encouraging people to look beyond the headline acts and see the festival as a complete weekend experience in one of the Highlands’ most popular destinations.
For many visitors, Dornoch is already somewhere they travel to for its beaches, golf, restaurants and relaxed coastal setting.
The festival aims to add another reason to visit.
Across the weekend, audiences can enjoy performances from The Hoosiers, Tide Lines, The Tumbling Paddies and GlasVille, alongside a diverse line up featuring emerging artists, local performers and established names from across Scotland and beyond.
Music remains at the heart of the event.
However, organisers believe the appeal extends much further than what happens on stage.
Families can enjoy a dedicated family zone and fun fair attractions throughout the weekend.
Food vendors will offer a range of options across the site.
A beer tent will provide a social space for festivalgoers looking to relax, meet friends and make a day of it.
Rather than arriving for a single performance and heading home, the intention is to create an environment where people settle in for the day and enjoy everything the festival has to offer.
That approach reflects the character of Dornoch itself.
It is not somewhere people simply pass through.
It is somewhere people choose to visit.
Set on the east coast of the Highlands, the town attracts visitors from across Scotland and beyond who come for its scenery, hospitality and sense of space.
Festival organisers hope visitors will use the opportunity to explore the area, spend time locally and experience what makes Dornoch such a distinctive Highland destination.
The event is continuing to build on foundations laid in previous years, with ambitions to establish itself as a permanent fixture in the Highland summer calendar.
At full capacity, up to 9,000 people could attend across the two days, creating a significant boost for local businesses and the wider visitor economy.
As the countdown continues, organisers believe Dornoch Music Festival represents something increasingly rare.
A festival that feels large enough to matter, yet small enough to remain welcoming, accessible and genuinely rooted in place.
For those looking for a summer weekend that combines live music, food, family entertainment and a chance to experience one of the Highlands’ most picturesque towns, Dornoch Music Festival may offer exactly that.
Tickets for Dornoch Music Festival are available now, with the event taking place on Friday 17 July and Saturday 18 July in Dornoch.
