Strike action by North Air fuel tanker drivers at Edinburgh Airport has been called off after workers voted to accept an improved pay offer.

The deal, tabled on Friday, was overwhelmingly supported by Unite members in a ballot concluded yesterday.

The offer includes a 4.5 per cent pay rise backdated to August, alongside notable improvements to the overall remuneration package.

Shift allowances will rise by 10 per cent, and the Saturday overtime rate will jump from 1.33 to 1.66 times the standard rate, offering a significant boost to weekend earnings.

Unite General Secretary Sharon Graham praised the workforce, stating:

“Unite’s North Air tanker drivers stood firm for a fair pay increase.

“This is another win for Unite in the aviation sector, delivering better wages for our members.”

The deal also enhances company bonus schemes, with driver skills trainer bonuses increasing from £200 to £500, and training champion bonuses rising from £400 to £1,000—a 150 per cent uplift.

Unite Industrial Officer Carrie Binnie added:

“Our members at North Air have secured a deal that recognises their hard work and skills.

“The agreement means the festive strike action is off, and the dispute is resolved.”

This agreement averts potential disruption during the busy Christmas and New Year period, ensuring smooth operations at Edinburgh Airport while securing fairer conditions for workers.
