Fèill Dhreuchd Ghàidhlig

Chruinnich luchd-fastaidh ionadail ann an Sgoil Mhicneacail bho chionn ghoirid airson Fèill Dhreuchd Ghàidhlig a chaidh a chur air chois le Comhairle nan Eilean Siar agus Buidheann Leasachaidh Oigridh san Aite-Obrach (DYW), Innse Gall.  

Choinnich sgoilearan bho chlasaichean 1 gu 3 san àrd-sgoil ri luchd-fastaidh gus cluinntinn mu chothroman Gàidhlig a chleachdadh an luib diofar dhreuchdan.

Bha luchd-fastaidh bho na buidhnean a leanas an làthair: Arainneachd Eachdraidheil na h-Alba, MG Alba, Leasachadh Sgilean na h-Alba, UHI TI & Innse Gall, Acair, Bòrd Slàinte nan Eilean Siar, Comunn Eachdraidh Nis, Anderson Macarthur, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar agus Alzheimers Scotland.

Tha e mar amas aig Comhairle nan Eilean Siar luchd-obrach le Gàidhlig fhastadh agus a thrèanadh ‘s bha riochdairean bho 7 roinnean Comhairle an làthair aig an fhèill: Tràth Bhliadhnaichean, Leabharlainn nan Eilean Siar, Ionad Ioma-Mheadhan, Foghlam & Leasachadh Coimhearsnachd, Teagaisg, Preantasachd agus Sgioba na Gàidhlig.  

As dèidh na Fèill Dhreuchd, sgaoil DYW Innse Gall teisteanasan air na meadhanan sòisealta aca a’ sealltainn mar a tha Ghàidhlig air a cleachdadh ann an suidhichidhean eadar-dhealaichte ann an gnìomhachasan ionadail.

Gaelic Careers Event 

Local employers gathered in the Nicolson Institute this month for a Gaelic Careers event organised by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Developing the Young Workforce Outer Hebrides.

The event, organised as part of Seachdain na Gàidhlig, saw Secondary 1-3 pupils meet with employers and find out about opportunities to use Gaelic in their future careers.

The following employers attended the event: Historic Environment Scotland, MG Alba, Skills Development Scotland, UHI NWH, Acair, NHS Western Isles, Comunn Eachdraidh Nis, Anderson Macarthur, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Alzheimers Scotland. 

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is committed to the recruitment and training of a Gaelic workforce and representatives from 7 Comhairle sections were present on the day including Early Years, Western Isles Libraries, Multimedia Unit, Community Learning and Development, Teaching, Apprenticeships and Sgioba na Gaidhlig.
