The SNP Government has significantly expanded the support available through Scotland’s Migration Service.
This service, introduced by the SNP in Government, ensures newcomers to Scotland have the information they need to move here and that businesses are guided through the process of sponsoring and employing international workers.
Population decline is one of the biggest challenges facing Scotland and the expansion of this service will ensure that communities, public services and business are helped to access the people and workforce they need.
Increasing Scotland’s working age population is also essential to boost economic growth – as the SNP Government prioritises attracting more taxpayers to make Scotland their home.
Commenting, SNP MSP Emma Roddick said:
“If we are to tackle population decline and increase the working age population of Scotland it is essential that we attract more immigration and support businesses in their efforts to hire international workers.
“The SNP Government have expanded Scotland’s Migration Service to do just that – with the enhanced service now providing further support and guidance to help both employers and employees navigate the process.
“Westminster, no matter the colour of government, has dragged Scotland out of the European single market and enforced a hostile approach to immigration – the SNP is doing everything in Government to reverse that damage and encourage more people to make Scotland their home.”
