Highland Council will fly the Rainbow Flag in Inverness during the weekend of 21-23 June to show support for the Highland Pride parade taking place during Pride Month.

Convenor of the Highland Council, Cllr Bill Lobban said:Ā
āHighland Council continues to support the annual Highland Pride parade and the thousands of people from the LGBTQ+ community, their family, friends and members of public, who will march through Inverness.Ā
āWe are giving a consistent message that Highland is an inclusive place where we promote fairness and welcome diversity. Ā
“I am pleased that Highland Council will show its support for Highland Pride 2024 and that the Rainbow Flag will fly at both the Councilās Headquarters on Glenurquhart Road and at Inverness Town House.āĀ

āInverness Councillors through the Inverness Common Good Fund are also pleased to celebrate Pride Month and show our support to end discrimination towards the #LGBTQ+ community by enabling Ness bridge to be lit in rainbow colours during Highland Pride weekend.ā
The Highland Pride parade will start on Saturday 22 June, 1:30pm at Crown Primary School following Kingsmill Road, Stephenās Street, Stephenās Brae, Eastgate, High Street, Bridge Street, Church Street, and Baron Taylorās Street.
It will then cross Academy Street and end at end at Falcon Square.
