Moray Council has kicked off a consultation on a new scheme to manage overnight stays for campervans and motorhomes across the region.
The proposals would see designated council-owned sites officially opened for short-stay parking, offering a more organised and sustainable approach to welcoming these visitors.
The goal is to support on-the-go tourism while reducing the strain on communities that currently see unregulated overnight parking.
Provisional spots have already been earmarked in Lossiemouth, Cullen, Buckie, Forres, Portgordon, Burghead, Ballindalloch, Craigellachie and Aberlour.
Locals are being urged to weigh in and suggest other suitable areas they think would work.
The consultation, which is now live, takes just ten minutes to complete and asks for views on things like site suitability, potential impacts and operating times.

It’s all part of a wider plan to manage the rise in campervan tourism without losing the relaxed charm that draws visitors to Moray in the first place.
The consultation closes on Friday 16 May, with a report due to follow summarising community feedback before any final decisions are made.
Cllr Marc Macrae, Chair of Moray Council’s Economic Development and Infrastructure Services Committee, says the balance between welcome and worry must be struck.
He praised the popularity of Moray with campervan visitors but admitted unmanaged stays could put pressure on communities and public spaces.
He said the consultation was a chance for residents to shape a fair solution that allows for tourism without causing disruption.
The aim is to ensure any overnight stop is responsible, clean, well-managed and ultimately enhances the visitor experience.
By creating designated sites, the council hopes to keep streets and beauty spots clear while still embracing the economic benefits of van-based travel.
The consultation is available online and open to everyone, with a special interest in hearing from those living in or near the proposed locations.
Feedback from the survey will help guide the future of campervan tourism in Moray and ensure it’s a benefit rather than a burden.
Locals, business owners and visitors alike are encouraged to have their say before the deadline.
It’s a chance to make sure Moray continues to be a welcoming and well-prepared destination for all who roll in.
