Positive Inspection Reports for Linkwood and Pilmuir Nurseries

Must read

Two Moray nurseries have been rated as ‘Very Good’ by the Care Inspectorate following unannounced inspections earlier this year.

Linkwood Nursery’s inspection took place on 15 March and Pilmuir Nursery’s on 27 May.

Both visits were carried out by two inspectors and included speaking with children, parents, carers, staff and management; observing practice and daily life; and reviewing documentation.

The inspection report for Linkwood Nursery sees it graded 5 (Very Good) on a six-point scale across the four themes: quality of care and support; quality of environment; quality of staffing; and quality of management and leadership.

Pilmuir Nursery also received grade 5 (Very Good) for the two themes inspected: quality of care and support and quality of management and leadership.

Staff at both settings were also praised for the nurturing relationships formed with the children.

Parental feedback within the reports shows they’re satisfied with the communications from both settings and feel involved in their child’s care and learning.

Both settings were also praised for the partnership approach they have with families, with the nursery management, staff and parents/carers working together in a meaningful way.

Linkwood Nursery Manager, Elaine Gordon, said:

“I’m extremely proud of the team at Linkwood Nursery following the visit from the Care Inspectorate earlier in the year.

“We are pleased that our vision of creating a warm, calm and welcoming ethos was acknowledged within our inspection report and look forward to continuing to support all of our children to develop skills for learning, life and work.

“We’re very happy that we now have the opportunity to invite our families into our setting again which will give us the opportunity to work more closely with our nursery community.

“We work hard to ensure that we’re supporting positive outcomes for all of our children and are delighted with the feedback received.”

Pilmuir Nursery Manager, Bev Ashworth, said:

“Pilmuir Nursery offers a caring and nurturing environment that helps the children feel safe and confident.

“I’d like to thank my colleagues for their continued hard work and dedication, which has been highlighted within the report.

“We’re extremely lucky to have fantastic outdoor facilities at Pilmuir and I’m delighted that the feedback from parents shows that their child’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing is fully supported through this regular access to fresh air.”
