Promotion Dreams on The Line as Play-Off Drama Unfolds Across Scotland

The business end of the Scottish football season is here, and with it comes the beautiful chaos of the play-offs.

Over six days, clubs from the Premiership, Championship, and League 1 will battle it out for promotion, survival, and glory.

In the Premiership play-off semi-final, Partick Thistle and Livingston are set to go head to head in what promises to be a fiery two-legged tie.

The first leg takes place on Tuesday 13 May at Firhill, with kick-off at 7.45pm and live coverage on BBC Scotland.

Three days later, the return fixture at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Friday 16 May, also at 7.45pm, will decide who keeps their top-flight hopes alive.

It’s a meeting between two sides with vastly different recent histories but a shared desperation to stay at Scottish football’s top table.

Down in the Championship, the play-off final sees Cove Rangers take on Airdrieonians in another tantalising double-header.

The opening leg is under the lights on Wednesday 14 May at Balmoral Stadium, kicking off at 8.10pm live on BBC ALBA.

The decider takes place on Saturday 17 May at the Excelsior Stadium, with a tea-time start of 5.30pm, also on BBC ALBA.

Airdrie will be desperate to make amends for narrowly missing out on promotion last season, while Cove are hoping to bounce back after a turbulent campaign.

Meanwhile, the League 1 play-off final has its own storylines as East Fife face Annan Athletic in a bid to seal their place in Scotland’s third tier.

The first leg kicks off on Tuesday 13 May at Bayview, with a 7.30pm start and live broadcast on BBC ALBA.

The second leg, hosted by Annan on Friday 16 May at the same time, will decide which club earns a crucial step forward.

As always, if the scores are level after both legs, extra time and, if needed, penalties will settle the tie.

It’s a nerve-shredding way to end the season, but for the winners, it’s everything.

From the Highlands to the Borders, fans will be glued to their screens, hoping for a moment of magic that changes everything.

This is what football is all about.
