The Saltire Society has planned a Highland celebration of Scottish culture in Inverness, covering literature, music, architecture and more.
The day of cultural events will take place on the 28th of October at the Craigmonie Hotel, featuring architect and author Calum Macleod, piper Iain Hamilton, author Jennifer Henderson and folk singer Iona Fyfe.
The event will also include an award presentation recognising contribution to Highland culture.
In June this year, The Saltire Society launched its inaugural 40 Under 40 List, celebrating the richness of Scotlandâs culture and recognising outstanding creative talent under the age of 40.
The List included a range of actors, writers, poets, musicians and campaigners, as well as those doing innovative work in the sciences.
The Saltire Society took some of that 40 Under 40 List on tour across Scotland over August and September this year, giving those involved a platform to share their inspiring work with the general public at stops in Dundee, Falkirk and Dumfries.
Now the fourth and final stop of the Saltire Roadshow will be joined by folk singer Iona Fyfe, who was also one of the 40 Under 40 inductees.
Iona Fyfe has become one of Scotlandâs finest singers, rooted deeply in the singing traditions of the North East of Scotland.
In 2021, she became the first singer to win the coveted title of Musician of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards.
The Saltire Society hopes to attract new members by demonstrating its active role in culture across the country.Â
Benefits of membership include access to local Saltire Branches, special discounts on tickets (including for the Roadshow), plus behind-the-scenes updates on The Saltire Societyâs mission to celebrate Scottish creativity.
Tickets for the Inverness leg of the Roadshow are now available at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/saltire-society-roadshow-inverness-tickets-726001569237
