Scots Overwhelmingly Support SNP Policies

New polling has shown the vast majority of Scots support several groundbreaking policies introduced by the SNP.

The Survation poll for Progress Scotland showed an overwhelming level of support for eight SNP policies – including free prescriptions, free tuition fees, and free bus passes for over-60s and disabled people.

The findings make clear that people in Scotland support the Scottish Parliament taking different decisions than those taken at Westminster.

SNP MSP Jackie Dunbar said:

“Since the SNP came into government, we have been taking actions to improve the lives of people across Scotland.

“From free prescription and tuition fees to saving parents around £5,500 per child per year with 1140 hours of childcare and free bus pass for over 60s, under 22s and disabled people – SNP policies are benefitting every home in Scotland.

“The SNP Government is also stepping up to protect people in Scotland from Westminster governments’ cuts and policies which completely ignore the interests of Scotland – whether it is bringing back winter heating payments for pensioners or protecting Scots from the bedroom tax.

“The SNP has listened to the people of Scotland and will always protect these popular policies – whereas Labour and the Tories simply cannot be trusted and have policies like free tuition in their sights for scrapping if they ever get the chance.”
