A £90,000 project has been announced that will see footway improvements implemented adjacent to the A82 through Fort Augustus, with work set to get underway from Monday 21 March.
The works will involve teams resurfacing over 1km of the existing footway in Fort Augustus as well as undertaken kerb realignment works.
Phase one of the project is expected to begin on Monday 21 March and is programmed to take place between 7am and 7pm over two weeks, with all works expected to be completed by Friday 1 April, subject to weather.
No works are programmed to take place at the weekend.
To keep roadworkers and road users safe, temporary traffic lights will be in operation continuously for the duration of the project.
A temporary footway will also be provided to allow pedestrians to pass through the site safely.
The second phase of works are scheduled to take place in late spring, more information will be shared once details of the project has been confirmed.
Consultation has been undertaken with local residents, businesses, the local authority and emergency services to make them aware of the works and the traffic management arrangements that will be in place.
