Replacement footbridge to be installed over Allt Na Frithe as part of A9 Tomatin Distillery access and local road improvements project.

Transport Scotland is advising local road users to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey as a section of the Tomatin to Kylachy Road (C1121) closes from 07:00 on 6 July 2022 for approximately 7 days.

The closure of the Tomatin to Kylachy Road, which will be in place south of the Tomatin Distillery access road to Porters Lodge, is necessary to ensure the safety of local road users and the workforce while we install the replacement footbridge at the Allt Na Frithe watercourse, and undertake final surfacing of the new carriageway in this location.

To facilitate safe access to the A9 trunk road during the Tomatin to Kylachy Road closure, three-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation at Tomatin South Junction.

During this period a temporary 30 ph speed restriction will also be in place on the A9 trunk road between Tomatin north and south junctions.

Local and emergency access will be provided through the works, and a signed diversion route will be in place for the duration of the closure.

These works have been planned in consultation with key stakeholders including Police Scotland, BEAR Scotland and The Highland Council.

Transport Scotland, would like to thank road users for their patience as we progress these works which are preparatory works in advance of the A9 Dualling: Tomatin to Moy project.
