Corran Ferry Prepares for Winter Refit and Service Change

The Corran Ferry is currently running as normal, with the MV Corran leading daily crossings and the Maid of Glencoul standing by as the relief vessel.

From Thursday 30 October, the Maid of Glencoul will take over operations for the winter months while the MV Corran undergoes its annual refit.

The smaller vessel means a reduced vehicle capacity and slightly longer journey times, so passengers are advised to allow extra time for their trips.

No dangerous goods will be permitted while the Maid of Glencoul is in service, and specific information on HGV restrictions can be found HERE.

Live traffic webcams of the ferry queues are also available online to help travellers plan their journeys with ease.

The MV Corran received major upgrades during its 2023 and 2024 refits, and this year’s work is expected to be completed early in 2026 following dry dock inspection.

Further updates on the programme will be shared once that inspection is complete.

A small but notable change will also take effect on Monday 10 November, when a foot passenger fare will be introduced.

For timetables, service notices, and real-time travel updates, passengers can visit the Corran Ferry website or follow @CorranFerry on social media.
