All adults aged 18-39 are now being invited forward to get their first dose of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine between now and the end of July, depending on vaccine supply.

This will ensure that Scotland is able to move to level 0 on 19 July, and then lift all remaining COVID-19 restrictions on 9 August.

If you have not yet received an appointment for your first dose and are unable to attend one of the drop-in clinics please visit NHS Scotland’s Appointment Checker or call the COVID-19 Vaccination Helpline on 0800 030 8013.

Any adult aged 18-39 that has not already received an appointment for a first vaccine can also get their first vaccination from one of NHS Highland’s drop-in clinics in Inverness and Wick.

Please attend if you have not received an appointment or you were unable to attend your scheduled appointment.

Drop-in clinics do not require an appointment and you can arrive at any time during opening hours.

Please wear loose clothing or short sleeves, and be advised that you may have a short wait when you arrive depending on demand.

These clinics are not available to people who require a second dose.

Convener of the Highland Council, Bill Lobban added:

“The pandemic is still having a huge impact on lives and the economy.

“It is vital that as many people as possible are protected from the virus and this will enable the economy to open up again and for us all to have confidence in going out and about.”

Dr Tim Allison, Director of Public Health with NHS Highland, said:

“I’d like to thank the Highland population who have come forward in their thousands to receive their vaccination.

“We’re now holding drop-in clinics for our 18-39 population and would encourage those in this age group to attend.

“These have been very challenging times for all of us and we want to get back to some sort of normality. Attending for your vaccine when invited is one of the ways we can do this.”
