Jobseekers across the Highlands will soon have the chance to meet employers, explore new opportunities, and take the next step in their careers as The Highland Council’s Employability Team announces the return of its Highland-wide Virtual Jobs Fair.
Running from Monday 17 to Friday 21 November 2025, the online event follows Scottish Careers Week and is designed to make career discovery more accessible than ever.
Delivered in partnership through the Local Employability Partnership, the fair brings together a wide range of organisations including The Highland Council, Skills Development Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Department for Work and Pensions, Developing the Young Workforce, UHI North West and Hebrides, and NHS Highland.
Economy and Infrastructure Committee Chair, Councillor Ken Gowans, said the fair continues to build on the success of previous events.
“Following the success of previous virtual job fairs, this Highland-wide event provides a fantastic platform to showcase the wide range of opportunities available for people to develop and learn new skills,” he said.
“Employers will be on hand to answer questions and explain the training pathways and development options they offer.
“By hosting the event online, we’re making it easier for people to attend without the need to travel.
“The sessions are flexible, allowing attendees to drop in and out throughout the week.”
He added that the online format means the fair is accessible to everyone, regardless of location or circumstances, and connects jobseekers directly with employers across the region.
The event is open to anyone looking for work, whether you’re seeking your first job, returning to work after a break, or considering a change in career.
Employers will host interactive sessions covering full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles, alongside apprenticeship and training opportunities.
Attendees will be able to ask questions, meet recruiters, and learn about upskilling and career development pathways.
Confirmed employers include Veitchi Group, Highland Home Carers, Caithness Collective, Eilean Donan Castle, The Highland Council, Balfour Beatty, Wood Plc, Murphy Group, CrossReach, and Ecosystems Technologies Ltd, with more to be announced soon.
The Highland Council’s Employability Team will also be available throughout the week to provide support and guidance to participants.
Councillor Gowans said the virtual fair highlights the region’s ongoing commitment to inclusive economic growth.
“This event opens doors for jobseekers of all ages and backgrounds,” he said.
“It’s about creating connections that help people find meaningful work and supporting local employers who are vital to our communities.”
