A 45 year old man has been arrested and charged after police recovered cannabis worth an estimated £12,000 in Lhanbryde, Moray on Saturday 14th of February 2026.
Officers from the Moray Community Investigation Unit, supported by the local community policing team, executed a drug search warrant at a property in the Garmouth Place area.
A quantity of cannabis with an estimated street value of £12,000 was recovered during the operation.
The man was arrested and charged in connection with drug offences and is due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court at a later date.
The recovery follows a recent cannabis cultivation discovery in Wick, adding to a growing pattern of drug related operations uncovered across the north.
While individual cases vary in scale, police activity in both urban and rural communities suggests continued efforts to disrupt the supply of controlled substances and prevent larger distribution networks from taking root.
Local officers have consistently highlighted the importance of community intelligence in identifying suspicious activity, particularly in residential areas where unusual patterns of behaviour, altered properties or strong odours may raise concerns.
The latest seizure underlines the ongoing work of specialist investigation units working alongside frontline teams to tackle drug production and protect communities across Moray and the wider Highlands.
Investigations remain ongoing.
