Moray Candidate Backs SNP Manifesto Focused on NHS and Cost of Living

The SNP candidate for Moray, Laura Mitchell, has welcomed the launch of the party’s latest manifesto, setting out plans to invest in the NHS and support households across Scotland, ahead of the upcoming election.

The proposals include a new walk in GP centre in Moray, a £2 cap on bus fares, expanded childcare from 9 months old, and financial support of up to £10,000 for first time buyers.

Mitchell said the manifesto reflects priorities that matter to people locally, particularly around health services and rising living costs.

“The SNP manifesto is a manifesto for all of Scotland, with strong commitments to invest in and renew our NHS, to grow our economy, and to support households with the cost of living.

“I’m delighted it includes plans for a walk in GP clinic for Moray, which will be open 7 days a week, 12 to 8pm.

“This is something I’ve campaigned for in order to ease pressure on GP services and Dr Gray’s A&E department.”

She said the cost of living remains the most immediate concern for many households, pointing to existing measures already in place.

“The cost of living is the biggest worry for people in Moray here and now, and the SNP already delivers the best support package on these isles, with frozen rail fares and peak fares gone for good, free prescriptions, and free university tuition.

“But we’re committed to going further by rolling out a £2 bus fare cap, and expanding childcare from 9 months to the end of primary school.

“For young folk in Moray it is increasingly challenging to save up for a deposit to get on the property ladder.

“The SNP will support first time buyers with up to £10,000 to help them buy their first home.”

Mitchell said the election presents a clear choice for voters in the area.

“At this election, for a Government on Scotland’s side, people in Moray should make it both votes SNP.”

The manifesto places a strong emphasis on public services, household support and economic growth, with local delivery forming a key part of the party’s pitch to voters in Moray.
