Dornoch Meadows will come alive tomorrow as the gates open for Dornoch Music Festival, bringing two days of live music, family entertainment and festival atmosphere to the heart of Sutherland.
After months of planning and days of construction, the stage is complete, the sound systems are in place, the fun fair is ready to welcome families and the countdown is now measured in hours rather than days.
Visitors arriving at the festival will find far more than a programme of live music.
Across both days, the Family Zone will offer activities from midday until the evening, giving younger visitors and families plenty to enjoy alongside the performances taking place on the main stage.
Friday begins with Cowboy Hat Creation before Line Dancing gets everyone moving, followed by a Kung Fu demonstration, the Rockstar Riddle Tour and a performance from the Dornoch Highland Stars, before the evening finishes with a Silent Disco.

Saturday’s Family Zone programme is equally busy, with a Bad Actress meet and greet, another Kung Fu demonstration, the Rockstar Riddle Tour, Rokzkool and a Silent Disco bringing the day to a close.

Alongside the Family Zone, festivalgoers can enjoy the fun fair, food traders, a beer tent and plenty of space to relax between performances as Dornoch Meadows is transformed into a full festival site.
The music begins from lunchtime on both days and builds towards two evenings of headline performances.

Friday night belongs to The Tumbling Paddies, supported by GlasVille, Harleymoon Kemp, Erin Ponsonby, Martin Bannon and Lucy Tay, while Saturday sees The Hoosiers headline after performances from Tide Lines, The Wellermen, Beat The Drum Runrig Experience, Wrest, Bad Actress, Scooty and The Skyhooks and Brittle.
With the full stage times now released, visitors can plan their weekend and make the most of everything happening across the site, whether that is standing in front of the stage for their favourite band, spending time in the Family Zone or simply soaking up the atmosphere with friends and family.
What began as an empty field has become one of the biggest festival sites in the Highlands, complete with what staging specialists Limelights believe is the largest festival stage ever erected north of Belladrum.
Tomorrow, that stage comes to life.
Thousands of people are expected to make their way to Dornoch Meadows over the weekend for what promises to be two days of music, entertainment and summer memories in one of Scotland’s most picturesque towns.
The waiting is almost over.
One more sleep, and Dornoch Music Festival begins.
Tickets for Dornoch Music Festival are still available ahead of the gates opening on Friday 17 July and Saturday 18 July.
