Overnight traffic restrictions will be introduced next month on a key stretch of the A9 as preparatory works begin for the next phase of dualling between Tomatin and Moy.
From Sunday 7 July, temporary traffic lights and a convoy system will be in place for five weeks at various locations between Moy rail bridge and the start of the existing dual carriageway.
The works are part of a major realignment programme that includes road widening, new markings and essential groundwork for future culvert installations.
To keep everyone safe, vehicles will be guided through the works under convoy between 7.30pm and 6am.
Drivers will be required to slow down and follow the convoy vehicle through the construction zones.
Once through the managed section, normal speed limits will resume as indicated.
The realignment will affect the area from Moy rail bridge to roughly 1.5 miles south of the B815 turn-off to Fort Augustus.
The work has been carefully scheduled for overnight hours to reduce impact on daytime traffic and keep disruption to a minimum.
Emergency services and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and check the Traffic Scotland website for any weather-related changes.
This section of the A9 is a key part of the wider dualling project, a major investment in Highland infrastructure aimed at improving safety and connectivity.
With steady progress now underway, short-term delays are a sign that long-term improvements are on the horizon.
