B’ e seachdain air leth trang a bha ann, mar phàirt de Sheachdain na Gàidhlig aig Roinn an Fhoghlaim, agus busaichean Splaoid aig Tuath agus Splaoid aig Deas air an rathad.
Bho Dhiluain 11mh Samhain gu Dihaoine thadhal Splaoid aig Tuath air na Hearadh, Ùig, An Taobh Siar, na Lochan, An Rubha, Am Bac agus Steòrnabhagh.
Bha gu leòr a’ dol ann an Uibhist cuideachd aig Splaoid aig Deas, le Yvonne Irving air cùl a’ chuibhle a’ tadhal air Ceann a’ Bhàigh, Barraigh, Loch Baghasdail agus Beinn na Faoghla.
Chaidh na bhanaichean air an rathad o chionn còrr air bliadhna ais ais mar phàirt de dh’oidhirp a thaobh for-ruigheachd airson ar coimhearsnachdan Gàidhlig.
Fhuairear maoineachadh airson dà bhana a cheannach gus taic a chumail ri obair Roinne na Tràth-Bhliadhnaichean agus an compàirtichean, a thaobh meudachadh ionnsachadh Gàidhlig airson aoisean 0 gu 3 air feadh na h-Eileanan an Iar.
Tha clann, an teaghlaichean, Sgoiltean Àraich agus buidhnean coimhearsnachd agus iomadach buidheann eile a’ faighinn cothrom na bhanaichean an cleachdadh gus ionnsachadh Gàidhlig a bhrosnachadh ann an dòigh tarraingeach agus spòrsail.
Tha broinn na bhanaichean air an sgeadachadh nan àitean-cluiche agus gu dearbha bha spòrs, òrain is plòidh gu leòr a’ dol fad an t-seachdain seo.
Thuirt Elaine Poke, Tidsear Curraicealaim nan Tràth-bhliadhnaichean aig a’ Chomhairle:
“Tha e air a bhith na thlachd dhomh a bhith air an rathad airson Seachdain na Gàidhlig a chomharrachadh – ged is e Seachdain na Gàidhlig a tha ann dhuinn gach seachdain den bhliadhna.
“Tha e cho misneacail a bhith a’ faicinn an òigridh ag ionnsachadh, a’ seinn agus chanainn gur e an rud is doirbhe a tha ann a’ feuchainn ris a h-uile duine fhaighinn far a’ bhus aig deireadh na seiseanan – chan eil duine airson a thighinn dheth!”
Ma tha ùidh agaibh gun tadhal na busaichean oirbhse cuir post-dealain gu Evelyn Coull NicLeòid air evelyn@gnes.net.
Cuideachd, air a’ bhus tha pailteas fiosrachaidh ri fhaighinn mu fhoghlam tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig agus na buannachdan a tha an cois dà-chànanas.
A Busy Week for The Splaoid Buses!
It has been a busy week for the Department of Education, Skills and Children’s Services.
As part of the Department’s ‘Gaelic Week’ the ‘Splaoid’ buses have been on the road all week.
From Monday 11th November the bus for Lewis and Harris has travelled to Harris, Uig, the West Side, Lochs, Point, Back and Stornoway.
It was a busy week for Yvonne Irving in Uist and Barra with visits to Bayhead, Castlebay, Lochboisdale and Benbecula.
The vans have been on the road for just over a year in an effort to engage with our Gaelic communities and promote Gaelic Medium Education.
Funding was obtained from the Scottish Government, as part of their Capital Grants Scheme, to enable the purchase of two vans to support the work of Early Years and our partner agencies to enhance Gaelic learning for 0-3 year olds across the Western Isles.
Children, their families, our Sgoil Àraich settings, Pàrant is Pàiste groups and other groups to make use of the vans to learn Gaelic in a fun and engaging way.
The interior of the vans are an engaging play and learning area and certainly there was plenty of that evident over the last week!
Elaine Poke, Early Years Curriculum Teacher at Comhairle nan Eilean Siar commented:
“It’s been a pleasure to be out on the road this week to celebrate Seachdain nan Gàidhlig – even though every week of the year is Gaelic Week to us in many respects.
“It is a great source of encouragement to see young people engaged in learning and singing in a fun, safe environment.
“I would say the hardest part of the day is trying to get everyone off the bus – nobody wants to go home or back to class after a session!”
