As part of work to establish the Raigmore Active Travel Link, a footpath closure and traffic management measures will be put in place.

From Tuesday 4th May 2021, the footpath leading from the Raigmore Interchange to Raigmore Estate at the end of MacKintosh Road will be closed.

This will remain closed for the duration of the works, which are due to be completed in September.

Traffic management will also be in place at the Raigmore Interchange slip road from the A9 northbound, with a lane closure in place from 3rd May until 5th May 2021.

Bus services will be unaffected by the works.

As part of the Inverness City Active Travel Network (ICATN), the Raigmore Active Travel Link will consist of a link to encourage walking, wheeling and cycling from the Raigmore Estate and existing Golden Bridge to the Raigmore Interchange.

Contractor for the works, Pat Munro, aims to minimise disruption for local residents and road users and has created www.raigmoreactivetravellink.co.uk to provide regular updates.

Mark Smith, Contracts Manager at Pat Munro, said:

“We apologise for any inconvenience that this footpath and lane closure may cause.

“The closure is necessary to allow us to carry out the work safely and efficiently and we thank you for your patience.”

Raigmore residents and those affected by the works are invited to attend a Community Council meeting via Zoom on Wednesday 28th April 2021 at 7pm.

Representatives from The Highland Council and Pat Munro will be in attendance to answer questions.

Those who wish to join can find the meeting details on the website.
