More than 16,000 Baby Boxes have now been delivered to families across NHS Highland since the scheme first began.
The Scottish Government initiative, launched in 2017, ensures every newborn in Scotland receives a box filled with essential items for early life.
Figures show that 16,497 Baby Boxes have been distributed across NHS Highland alone, providing vital support to new parents.
Nationwide, the scheme has now reached 335,775 families since its inception.
The Baby Box includes practical items such as clothing, nappies, blankets and a digital thermometer, as well as a mattress-lined box which can be used as a safe sleeping space.
The project is designed to give every child in Scotland an equal start in life, regardless of background.
Caithness, Sutherland & Ross MSP Maree Todd welcomed the new figures, highlighting the ongoing impact of the scheme.
She said the Baby Box plays a key role in tackling child poverty, a core focus of the current Scottish Government.
Alongside the Scottish Child Payment of £27.15 per week, the Baby Box is part of a wider strategy to support children and families.
Todd stressed that during a time of increasing financial pressure on households, the contents of the box provide a lifeline to many.
She criticised what she described as the Labour government’s cuts to support for vulnerable families, and underlined the importance of devolved policies in Scotland.
According to Todd, initiatives like the Baby Box demonstrate the positive action the SNP is taking to reduce inequality and support families from day one.
She also pointed to the long-term ambition for Scotland to gain full powers through independence in order to enhance support even further.
The Baby Box continues to be praised by healthcare professionals, who see first-hand the difference it makes in early months.
Midwives and health visitors often help families understand and use the contents, providing an extra layer of guidance and reassurance.
The programme has also been recognised internationally, with other nations looking to the Scottish model for inspiration.
With delivery numbers continuing to rise, the Baby Box is now a familiar part of starting a family in Scotland.
The continued rollout across the Highlands and beyond is a reminder of the role government policy can play in shaping a better start for the next generation.
