TV gardener Carole Baxter (pictured) will be visiting a north east garden centre next month as it restarts its events programme following the Coronavirus outbreak.
Mackenzie & Cruickshank in Forres usually runs several events throughout the year including summer and winter markets, workshops for children, a dog show and numerous festive events in the run up to Christmas.
However, much of its schedule had to be cancelled for 2020, but with the garden centre reopening at the start of April, the management team are very much looking forward.
Peter Wilson, owner of Mackenzie & Cruickshank said:
“We are delighted to be welcoming Carole Baxter back to M&C.
“She has been here for the last few years but of course her visit last year had to be cancelled as we were forced to shut.
“However, after a few bumps in the road, things are feeling much more positive, and we look forward to be able to offer to our customers Carole’s expertise.
“We do not know whether we will be able to stage all or indeed any of our other events yet, but we feel that Carole’s visit is the first step in the right direction of bringing back some normality to M&C.
“We have plenty of space for Carole to be able to meet our customers safely and it’s a real opportunity to ask her questions and seek her expert gardening advice.”
During the lockdown, M&C has offered click and collect and delivery and the team has also taken the opportunity to upgrade the kitchens and extend the car park.
“It’s been a really tough time for all,” said Peter, “but rather than dwell on the situation, we have been able to make positive decisions for the business such as updating the kitchens and providing more parking for our customers.
“We are more about looking forward and getting on with the next chapter.”
Carole Baxter will visit M&C on May 15 and 16.
She will be situated in the garden centre’s extensive plant market and will meet and answer customers’ questions.
Carole said:
“I am so pleased to be returning to Mackenzie & Cruickshank.
“Last year, I was so disappointed not to be heading north and I am thrilled that Peter has invited me back this year.
“It’s always a pleasure meeting the customers who always come with loads of questions.”
