The Highland Council has today (Friday 25 March 2022) launched a public consultation on future development and priorities for communities across the Inner Moray Firth.

The Council’s Executive Chief Officer for Infrastructure, Environment and Economy Malcolm MacLeod is encouraging everyone to have their say.

He said:

“The Highland Council has made in-principle choices on where future building should and should not occur and this is your final chance to say whether or not you agree with those choices.”

Development Plans Manager, Scott Dalgarno added:

“The Plan will play an important role in setting out the development and funding priorities for your place so it’s vital you get involved and shape the future of your community.”

Comments can be made anytime over a 12-week period between 25 March and 17 June 2022.

Further information can be found by clicking here including easy-watch videos explaining the Plan and how to get involved.

Any community group or other organisation wishing to meet online with officers about the Plan should email imfldp@highland.gov.uk.

Anyone who is unable to access the internet either themselves or via a friend/relation, should contact the Development Plans Team on 01349 886608 to discuss alternative ways of accessing the Plan and making comment.

Those living very close to a potential development site will receive a letter explaining how the Plan may affect them.
