Latest win in Unite’s Runway to Success campaign.
Unite the union can confirm that it has delivered its latest new pay deal for workers based at Inverness airport, Scotland’s leading aviation trade union confirmed today (Monday 5 August).
Over 20 Skytanking ‘front-of-house’ customer service agents are set to receive a significant boost to their take-home pay including an increase in the hourly rate of £1.00 per hour.
This represents an average increase of 7.75 per cent.
The deal also includes an increase in the shift allowance rate by £1.00 per hour which amounts to an increase of 29.6 per cent, an extra days holiday and double time at Christmas and New Year.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said:
“Unite set ourselves a target of securing better jobs, pay and conditions at airports across Scotland.
“This excellent new deal for Skytanking workers at Inverness airport is another step forward in delivering our Runway to Success campaign.
“The message to all airport workers is clear – join Unite.”
Unite has clocked up a string of recent successes as part of its ‘Runway To Success’ campaign which is designed to establish standards above the legal minimums across Scottish airports.
These include:
Pay deal for Aberdeen and Glasgow airport ICTS workers worth up to 12.8 per cent
12 per cent basic increase in pay for Edinburgh Airport Services workers
11.9 per cent basic increase for over 100 OCS workers based at Edinburgh airport
10.9 per cent for OCS workers based at Glasgow airport
10 per cent pay rise for ABM workers at Glasgow airport

“Unite held successful negotiations with Skytanking at Inverness airport to ensure our members got a significant boost to their take-home pay.
“The new agreement will enhance basic hourly pay by 7.75 per cent along with major increases in shift pay and extra pay on festive holidays.
“It’s a deal we are pleased to have got over the line on behalf of our members.”
